Job Title: Mechanic Intern
Supervisor: Kirk Jacobson
Hours: 5-15 hours each week
Schedule: Fridays 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Wage: $12.00
Overall purpose and objectives of this position:
The purpose of this position to introduce the student to the shop at Beef Northwest Boardman location. During the internship the student will perform and assist with the duties of our mechanics in the shop.
Scope of Work:
Perform Preventative Maintenance and Housekeeping standards-
- Will be taught how to visually inspect equipment to identify areas of concern.
- Will be taught how to perform preventative maintenance duties such as lubricating critical parts and changing of fluids related to the piece of equipment.
- Student will assist with basic diagnosis of equipment.
- Depending on skill level student will repair equipment with the supervision of a experienced mechanic.
- Prepare work orders indicating the service completed on the equipment with time and materials that were allocated.
- Assist with Shop and Parts room organization and housekeeping.
Requirements:
- Strong work ethic and desire to be a mechanic in the Ag Industry post-graduation
- Positive attitude
- Desire and aptitude to repair equipment
- Experience performing lubricant changes
- Basic computer and math skills
- Reliable transportation to travel to and from jobsite (14 miles from Boardman).
