This is a student intern position with the Heppner Gazette. The student journalism intern will work 5 - 15 hours per week with a flexible schedule Monday - Tuesday 9am - 5pm and the possibility of after-hours attendance at school sports events.

Overall purpose and objective of this position:

The purpose of this internship is to learn about the journalism field including news writing and reporting.

Scope of Work:

• Newspaper reporter
• Edit photos and articles
• Participate in layout of newspaper

• Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, and Social Media knowledge
• Good organizational skills
• Good writing, spelling, punctuation, grammar and verbal communication skills
