This is a student intern position with Sage Garden Preschool in Heppner. The intern will work 5-15 hours per week on a flexible schedule Monday - Thursday 8am - 11am.

Overall purpose and objective of this position:

Our student intern will gain knowledge of working with children and their education, but also concepts of self-employment and business. The student will be working under the preschool teacher to aid the children in wholesome, fun, and learning activities.

To better teach our interns about a future in childcare and self-employment they will perform these duties: engaging children ages 3-5 years old, preparing the classroom for learning, food preparation, customer service and working with parents, employee trainings and meetings, and curriculum planning. CPR certification is not required but a bonus.

Duties:

• Help the preschool teacher teach lessons and activities.
• Play with the children and work to provide a happy experience.
• Plan curriculum and prepare projects for the classes.
• Attend employee meetings and training sessions.
• Make sure our program is safe and clean for our children.
