THE OPPORTUNITY
The purpose of this internship is to introduce the student to current workforce programs at the Port of Morrow. During the internship, the student will be assisting several departments within the facility, with a focus on Environmental, Health, & Safety, as well as learn about how an overall business model operates.

 

Position Responsibilities:
Assist with development of a safety policy and training program based on an OSHA regulation, working with the location’s Safety Manager as part of the development process.
Be a member of incident investigations and root cause analysis teams.
Update, implement, and possibly present training materials
Help with planning plant-wide events/meals
Interact with hourly plant employees within the facility while assisting the location’s Safety Manager with other projects and tasks

 

INTERN REQUIRMENTS:

Demonstrated strengths in relationship building and problem solving
Strong results orientation.
Ability to problem solve with limited guidance
Continuous improvement mindset and methodology Excellent verbal and oral communication skills Strong analytical skills
Strong computer competency including experience with MS suite
Willingness to learn about the company and process
