Overall purpose and objective of this position:
Under the general supervision of the Technology Instructor, the STEM Intern assists with lessons that integrate technology, computer science, and STEM info in K-6 curriculum. The STEM team will provide meaningful learning experiences for students in elementary schools.
Major responsibilities:
- Assist with curriculum development as it relates to educational technology, computer science, and STEM for new interactive classroom.
- Communicate STEM programming and visit schedule with students and staff.
- Connect technology concepts to real world applications.
- Work with Technology Instructor to develop surveys and feedback to enhance STEM programs.
- Apply scientific principles, engineering concepts, and technological systems in the processes of STEM related technologies.
- Encourage public speaking, teambuilding, and problem-solving opportunities.
- Discover and develop personal interests and abilities related to a wide variety of STEM technology-oriented careers.
- Provide basic troubleshooting for technology, as necessary.
- Instruct and demonstrate how to apply knowledge and to develop skills.
- Monitor students’ progress, assess learning, provide feedback to students and teachers, and,
- Complete other duties as assigned.
