This is a student intern Refrigeration/Energy efficiency position with Boardman Foods. Intern will work 5-15 hours per week on a flexible schedule Monday-Friday 7am -6pm

Overall purpose and objective of this position:
The purpose of this internship is to introduce the student to Industrial Refrigeration Systems, energy efficiency projects and providing the student with an understanding of anhydrous ammonia (NH3) used as the most common refrigerant in the Food Processing Industry. During the internship, the student will learn a variety of skills such as mechanics, hands-on interaction, anhydrous ammonia refrigeration principals, applied electricity, refrigeration control systems, perform energy study as part of the program, learn how to read utility reports (electricity), learn how to read large scale data collection and management efforts towards energy efficiencies. Student will also learn:
- Regulatory documentation requirements for anhydrous ammonia under the Environmental Protection Agency and OR-OSHA’s, Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Read Schematics for the refrigeration system Piping & Identification diagrams (P&ID).
- Inspection and documentation.
- Daily, weekly, monthly, annual inspections for NH3 systems and activities.
- Develop personal leadership skills.
