Description Summary
Responsible for assisting maintenance personnel with repair, and preventive maintenance of plant equipment as directed by the maintenance manager/supervisor. These tasks include any and all required projects including and not limited to all the facility such as parking lot or other departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Individuals in this position must:
- Assists in maintenance work, repair and adjustments of plant equipment; changes and replaces belts, sprockets, bearings, chains, motors, pumps, etc inside the maintenance shop.
- Reads, writes, and communicates fluently with leadership.
- Observer and assist when needed on routine preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Assist in entering maintenance notifications and keeping documentation up to date
- Responsible for maintaining the safe operation of his/her work area including initiation of frequent housekeeping and for bringing to supervisory personnel any unsafe conditions present
- Ability to follow instructions given in work logs, work orders and equipment manuals
- Ability to learn process and packaging equipment and QA equipment such as scales, metal detectors, and coders
- Perform Fire Watch duties.
- Support and promote CPS programs such as 5s, AMD and Center lining throughout the shop.
- Follow all plant safety policies and procedures
- Work with maintenance scheduler to receive parts, distribute, reconcile, adjustments and other duties as assigned.

- Able to effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing
- Read, understand, and obey all plant rules and practice safety as outlined in the employee handbook
- Practice proper body mechanics and safe lifting techniques
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Be knowledgeable of the potential hazards and safety procedures associated with the task being performed
- Actively practice and abide by all Company work, safety, personal hygiene rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook.

- Ability to learn how the equipment works
- Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly
